The "Colours of Humanity" Arts Prize 2024 is now open for entries to all artists based in Hong Kong. Entries will close on 9 September 2024.
The Colours of Humanity Art Prize is an inspiring platform celebrating artistic expressions that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. It invites artists to explore the multifaceted experiences of being human. Organized by Current Plans and hosted by the Goethe Institut, this annual competition and exhibition brings together artists from Hong Kong to showcase their creativity and social impact.
We welcome all forms of audio-visual art, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, and mixed media.
The jury will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria
1. Artistic Merit and Originality
The work will be assessed on its creativity, originality, and overall artistic quality.
2. Relevance to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The extent to which the artwork reflects and promotes the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This includes the representation of under-represented groups and experiences, themes of social impact, and the ability to inspire change or raise awareness.
We particularly invite artists from diverse cultural and social backgrounds to submit their work.
Shortlisted artworks will be announced early October and showcased in an exhibition open to the public from mid-November 2024 at the Goethe Gallery and Black Box Studio. Winners will be announced at an Award Night to be held in December.
